FAULTY DISHWASHER

DISHWASHER RECALL LIST

Please follow this link to see if your Dishwasher is one of the thousands currently unaccounted for models that pose a real threat to life.

We need to make more awareness of recalled products. We are now in 2014 and technology is moving at a great pace however I feel the outdated UK recall system has failed to keep up, I am pinning my hopes on the various people involved that we can update the flawed system as it now stands. Do we seriously think that letting major manufacturers control their own recalls is adequate, should consumers be allowed to have their concerns looked at by a third party?

I am aware of a major company that upon the need to perform a recall they placed an advert in two daily papers for one day only. At least they did enough to meet the current legislation and avoid a hefty £5000 fine probably less that most major companies spend on flowers for their receptions a year...

MORE AND MORE DISHWASHER FIRES ALREADY IN 2014

As I write this latest entry into my Blog, I am already aware of over twenty Dishwashers that have caught fire in 2014 ( http://goo.gl/maps/OHOqB ) One of the most recent fires resulted in the death of a family cat its pregnant owner had to attend hospital.

Fortunately as I write no human life has been lost due to these ticking time bombs. In the recent Fire Service statistics we are averaging around 400 fires per year increasing every year. How do the manufacturers live with their consciences knowing that through no fault of the consumer more and more people are being affected by faulty goods that exist in their kitchens.

Hopefully over the next week more people will be aware of the models that are affected, on Friday 21st of March I will be appearing on the BBC Watchdog test house (BBC 1 @ 11:45 am) highlighting the problems I had.

Also on Monday 24th of March my local MP Mike Wood will be highlighting my problems as he will be asking questions in Parliament about the failed recall system in the UK Hopefully with his help we can finally have a system in place where the major manufacturers have to do more regards making consumers aware of any defective goods that occupy our properties
